This Loveland homeowner had a background in construction and had already done a lot of the dirty work before we showed up to pour the new driveway. He’d had his own crew tear out the old concrete and backfill most of the gravel while they were handling other work on the property.

The owner was left in a tough spot after the concrete contractor he originally lined up bailed on the project because he was awarded larger jobs in the area. That’s where our team came in to save the day.

Because the demo and most of the gravel base were already handled, our prep was light. Once we set the forms, we touched up the gravel where it was needed and got everything ready to pour.
We brought in about 5 tons of 304 limestone behind the existing retaining wall to bring the area up to grade, then formed and poured roughly 250 square feet of new 4″ walkway running to the side entrance of the garage. Getting that grade right first is what keeps a walkway from settling or cracking down the road.

The main event was a new 60′ x 18′ driveway, right at 1,080 square feet. We poured it 5″ thick and reinforced it with 30 lb steel mesh, which is heavier than a standard residential driveway and built to hold up to years of vehicle traffic. We finished it with a broom texture for grip and traced smooth edges to clean up the perimeter.

Loveland sits on the northeast side of our service area, where we have installed hundreds of driveways, patios, and stamped concrete projects.
